From Bratwurst To Boogie Woogie: Take in All That the Texas Hill Country Has To Offer in Fall 2022
When people talk about visiting (or moving to) the Texas Hill Country, a region in Central Texas, they most often refer to the area’s natural wonders. Attractions include the epic water sports opportunities found at nearby lakes including Canyon Lake, Lake Dunlap, Lake McQueeney, and Lake Placid, and a boutique culinary industry. Culinary offerings include high-end wines and olive oils that can compete with other high-end producing regions.
In addition to the natural wonders that can be discovered and explored throughout Hill Country there are several events hosted throughout the region to ensure fun for the entire family throughout the fall months. Whether you are looking for something to do with the family or you want to plan a special date night, there are plenty of upcoming events to choose from.
Mild weather conditions throughout the season means we have a full calendar of Fall events to choose from. Here are some can’t-miss Texas Hill Country events coming up this Fall:
Lucktoberfest – October 28-November 6
Named for the venue at which it takes place, Willie Nelson’s Luck Ranch in Spicewood, Lucktoberfest is an all-ages music festival. A variety of world-class artists are packed into 10 days of music and celebration.
Spooktacular – October 28-31
If you’re looking for wholesome Halloween fun in the Texas Hill Country, head to Marble Falls for their annual Spooktacular. Here you’ll find all the Halloween carnival classics, like games, face painting, costume contests, and pumpkin carving.
Texas Furniture Makers’ Show – November 3-December 17
The beginning of November marks the beginning of a month-and-a-half-long celebration of fine Texas craftsmanship at the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center in Kerrville. Come see or purchase unique, one-of-a-kind pieces from the state’s master furniture makers.
Master Artwork Show – November 4-6
If you have a taste for the visual arts, you’ll want to set your sights on the town of Boerne in early November for a show featuring a range of artwork styles. From large metal sculptures to cutting-edge digital works, the Master Artwork Show is a can’t-miss event for anyone interested in the visual arts.
Wurstfest – November 4-13
This list could not possibly be complete without mentioning Wurstfest. Held annually in New Braunfels, a San Antonio suburb famous for its old-world German charm, Wurstfest is a massive celebration of German heritage and culture. Festivities include beer, music, dancing, and—of course—many delicious sausages.
Fredericksburg Trade Days – November 18-20, & November 25-27
If you like flea markets and craft fairs, you won’t want to miss Fredericksburg Trade Days. There is literally something for everyone, from home furniture, tools, antiques, unique clothing, jewelry, hand-crafted items, hunting accessories, and more. Held in a compound of seven separate barns, you’ll find over 300 vendors selling anything from antiques to food. In addition to vendors, you can unwind in the Biergarten while enjoying the various music provided by live and local bands. Sunday Farms in Fredericksburg is located near Enchanted Rock, Lavender trails, wineries, and several bed-and-breakfast locations, making it a perfect weekend getaway.
This list is by no means exhaustive and is only intended to highlight the variety of fun offerings to be found all across the Texas Hill Country. There are plenty of smaller fairs, parades, festivals, concerts, dances, classes, and other events happening throughout the autumn months .

Mayfair: Building for Future Hill Country Events
Mayfair is a new community just north of New Braunfels, Texas that will bring a variety of homes, apartments, townhomes and cottages wrapped in miles of Hill Country trails and walkable shops, restaurants and more. The new planned Hill Country community is under construction now, with first homes planned to be available in late 2023.
